Donations can be dropped off weekdays at Williamsburg House of Mercy or Grove Christian Outreach Center, and registration is now open for client families who wish to shop at the Marketplace event in December.
Williamsburg, Virginia — Williamsburg House of Mercy and Grove Christian Outreach Center are excited to announce that they are now accepting toy donations to support their upcoming Christmas Marketplace, a festive December event aimed at bringing holiday cheer to families in need across the area. Community members are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys Monday through Friday at Williamsburg House of Mercy or Grove Christian Outreach Center to help make this season memorable for local children.
The Christmas Marketplace event will offer an uplifting holiday experience, allowing parents to select toys for their children in a warm, joyful setting. Donations of toys are essential to making the marketplace possible and ensuring a wide variety of gifts for families to choose from.
Those wishing to donate toys can drop them off between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Williamsburg House of Mercy located at 10 Harrison Avenue or between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday at the Outreach Center located at 8800 Pocahontas Trail. Toys can be donated up until the Christmas Marketplace event kicks off on Dec. 9.
“The Williamsburg House of Mercy and Grove Christian Outreach share the same vision and mission in our work to serve those most in need in Greater Williamsburg,” said Liz Buckley, Executive Director of Williamsburg House of Mercy. “Combining the talent of our teams and volunteers helps us to advance the spirit of charity this Christmas season as we provide hope and celebration to the children in most need of our services through our first ever Christmas Market collaboration. I encourage our Greater Williamsburg community to reflect on the opportunity to selflessly give of their time, talent, and treasures in an effort to embrace the Christmas spirit.”
Suggested items for donation include toys for all ages, such as games, dolls, action figures, puzzles, books, and art supplies.
“We’re calling on the generosity of our community to make the Christmas Marketplace truly special for families in our area,” said Katie Patrick, Executive Director of Grove Christian Outreach Center. “It’s wonderful to partner with like-minded organizations such as the Williamsburg House of Mercy on this special event, and we are grateful for every contribution, as each item will bring smiles and joy to children who may otherwise go without gifts this Christmas.”
The Christmas Marketplace will be open to clients of Williamsburg House of Mercy and Grove Christian Outreach Center. Registration is required to receive an appointment time to shop.
