St. Martin’s Episcopal Church is rallying the faith communities of GWOM (Greater Williamsburg Outreach Mission) to join in the Nest for Neighbors program. This program will raise $25,000 for the Mercy Housing program at Williamsburg House of Mercy. The funds will help with security deposits, move-in expenses, rent and utilities as Mercy Housing seeks to journey with individuals from homelessness or precarious housing to lasting stability and self-sufficiency. Williamsburg House of Mercy’s Mercy Housing program rehoused 105 individuals last year and provided more than 1300 nights of emergency shelter and 482 households with eviction assistance to prevent homelessness.

The Williamsburg House of Mercy partners with over 15 faith groups and various businesses and nonprofit organizations to help minister to the poor and homeless in Williamsburg. They see men, women, and children who are in desperate need of the basic necessities, including food and shelter. Services and programs focus on a mission of providing financial assistance, food stability, homeless services, crisis pregnancy support, homeless rehousing and other outreach assistance to the greater Williamsburg community.
