William & Mary Kappa Sigma students donated $10,000 of funds and material items. These items include kitchen equipment for the Community Kitchen and Harbor Day Shelter for the Homeless, 13 boxes of clothing, 36 pairs of heavy duty boots for the homeless served by Williamsburg House of Mercy. With participation from every member of the fraternity, they were able to accomplish this in two semesters through winning a grant competition, hosting a fundraiser campaign, and a tennis tournament.  Thank you for leading the campus in philanthropy to your neighbors in need!

The Williamsburg House of Mercy Community Kitchen and Harbor Day Shelter for the Homeless serve a home cooked noontime meal and a hot breakfast and lunch to the homeless, respectively. These efforts are a starting point for stability and oftentimes the introduction to other services.  These efforts require the support of hundreds of volunteers, as well as funding from private donors and community grants, such as this year’s Williamsburg Community Foundation grant.
