Each month, volunteers gather to unpack and set up a mobile grocery market of fresh produce, meats, and family friendly foods at Williamsburg House of Mercy. With a record breaking 641 individuals receiving food, the June downtown Monthly Mobile Food Pantry succeeded in serving this year’s largest crowd because of the service of two offices of volunteers from Morgan Stanley and Long and Foster.

Nearly two-dozen volunteers from Morgan Stanley came in shifts, as they began the Morgan Stanley global volunteer month by serving unloading crates of papayas, cabbage, tomatoes, chickens, hams and other items. Similarly, several local real estate agents came to participate in Long and Foster’s annual Community Service Day. While each of these groups brought new volunteers, their partnerships with the Williamsburg House of Mercy are longstanding. Volunteers from both organizations regularly serve at the Monthly Mobile Food Pantry and even bring their spouses and children with them.
