Williamsburg House of Mercy is grateful to be receiving upwards of 900 pounds of bread and bakery items each week from Publix Supermarket on Monticello. With drop-offs three times a week, the fresh loaves of bread, rolls, and bakery sweets are making a big impact on family food security in our area. Families are particularly grateful for the sliced breads, as many children are able to bring filling sandwiches as part of their lunches for the school day. Despite the abundance of bread, the Williamsburg House of Mercy shelf-stable food pantry runs low each week because of a dramatic increase in hungry individuals in our area. If you, your school, organization or business would like to host a food drive, please contact our office to arrange a collection bin pickup and shopping list (757-229-3700).
